Root Parsley "Sonata" (Berlin type).
The Winter King: aromatic roots that can overwinter right in the garden bed!
A late-ripening variety (175-195 days) of high quality, designed for long-term storage and the fresh market.
Characteristics:
Forms long, straight, conical roots 19-22 cm long and weighing up to 60 g.
The skin is smooth, light grey. The flesh is creamy white, dense, and does not darken when cooked.
It possesses a very intense aroma that remains even after drying or freezing.
Variety value:
1. Frost resistance: A unique feature of "Sonata" is its ability to overwinter perfectly in the field. You can leave part of the crop in the ground and dig up fresh roots in early spring!
2. Storage: One of the best varieties for winter storage in cellars.
Agrotechnics (Secrets of Success):
Soil: Loose loam or sandy loam. Important: sow only in the 2nd year after applying manure! Fresh manure causes root branching (forking).
Sowing: Depth 1-2 cm. Seedlings (emerge in 15-20 days) must be thinned: first at the 2-3 leaf stage, then 2 weeks later, leaving 5-6 cm between plants.
Harvest: Late September - October, before the ground freezes.
1.0 g = 800-900 seeds.
